There is an active Music Department at Virginia Preparatory offering various extramural lessons - guitar, recorder and choir. The choir performs at various functions including Cultural Evenings, Musical Concerts and leads the singing at assemblies.

The new art room is a great success with its amazing position overlooking the field and views from the Bluff to Umhlanga.

We also have a cookery club that meets once a week. the children are taught basic culinary skills which they thoroughly enjoy.

The new drama club meets twice a week and has proved extremely popular.  The 100 plus membership bears testament to the exciting and interesting work being done.

Annual Carol Evenings involve the choir and instrumental groups. Children are actively involved in music lessons, which incorporate various dance styles, stage productions, choreography, singing, composing, playing of instruments and learning about different musical genres.
Virginia hosts an annual Durban North Spring Art Exhibition in the third term. This is opened by a guest speaker and invited schools display their art.
