VNN

A unique aspect of the IT centre is VNN -The Virginia News Network. Pupils are taught how to use a video camera and are involved in filming various activities within the school, interviews with celebrities and visiting productions. Each classroom is equipped with its own monitor which facilitates the viewing of these broadcasts.

Computer Centre

We are indeed proud of the well-equipped computer centre, which is offered to the pupils of Virginia Preparatory. The pupils have access to a variety of CD-ROM titles, the internet and numerous English and Maths programmes. These programmes are used for reinforcement, remediation and extension purposes. Virginia Prep caters for all it's pupils' needs.

We have just installed 2 new Smartboards. (one in the computer room & one in the media centre). These are interactive white boards which are linked to a data projector and computer. Needless to say, the learning opportunities are endless. Each class teacher can book a time in either venue to use these boards with their classes.

Media Centre

The Media Centre is large and spacious (having once been the school hall) and airconditioned. It is extremely well stocked and the pupils have access to a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, all of which are scanned on computer. Children can obtain unlimited information from exciting CD-ROM programmes. The centre flourishes because it keeps abreast of continuously changing developments.

Virginia Prep has an efficient homework centre which operates from 14:00 until 17:00 Monday to Friday. Teachers monitor the pupils' homework in our airconditioned media centre. This is of great benefit for working parents.
